I know this working duck decoy, and its male, green-headed Golden Eye mate, came from an estate in Newburyport, MA, where, or near where, they were made. I'm no decoy expert and not dedicated to becoming one; I get excited about them for their sculptural qualities, the more primitive the better, and for their surfaces, made better by the years and work they've done. I find the form, and the craquelure to the surface on this one really gorgeous, and the combination of plum and gray-white paint quite elegant. Folky and striking at once, all the better in person.
15 1/2" x 7 3/4" t x 6 1/4" w, in very good, used condition. Lead weight on underside removed, sits flat. Sturdy and sound.
