This one makes me want to spend all my time searching for antique French ribbon samplers--I do believe it is about the most perfectly beautiful thing I've seen or can imagine, a dream in color. Photos give a good sense, silk ribbon, glorious color, handwritten numbers next to each sample, and stamped Clavel and Cie. at upper right. Earlyish 20th c. I believe.
13 15/16" x 10 1/4" open (and why would yopu ever want to close it?!) Very good condition, even better in hand. Light cream colored card interior, dark green exterior.
