Folky Hand-carved Antique Corner Shelf with Mirrors

Regular price $95.00

Super folky and cozines-inducing, this is a wonderful, very lovingly handmade small corner shelf with two mirrors, late 19th century New England, from the estate of a long time collector in New Hampshire. An eye hook on the backside of the piece latches to hold the the curved shelf sturdily in place when it is folded down, then unhooks to allow the whole thing to fold up flat. Very smart, and very charming!

The rectangular frames on each side hold small mirrors, adhered on the backsid--one original, backed with old fabric, and the other newer, replaced at some point. Overall the piece is in very good antique condition, with two old splits in the decorative pieces above each mirror, to my eye not detracting at all. The shelf is stable and sturdy and would make a great spot for displaying a few special (not too heavy) things! There are various spots on the back to which hanging hardware could be mounted for secure hanging on the wall.
