This is a really lovely, very good condition, and very comprehensive example of a sewing lessons/samples notebook, early 20th century, notable also for including extensive notes written in a nice hand--covering topics from needles to thimbles to various sewing techniques. But of course it is the sewing samples themselves that make it great, 18 of them here, many incorporating Faye Hart's name of initials, and all very nicely executed. Various types of stitches, hems, button holes, darning, patching, embroidery, etc. Photos document all sewing samples (I believe I captured them all!) but there are a good number of pages of handwritten text I didn't photograph. These are harder and harder to find and this is a great example.
8 7/16" x 6 11/16". 27 pages used, most filled front and back, with about 9 more blank pages. 18 sewing samples stitched to pages.
