In my dream home, I have beautiful wall to wall, floor to ceiling built-in shelving, with a big section dedicated to nothing but interesting little pottery vases like this one (kind of like good rocks--satisfying on their own; even better grouped.) This one is by Don Curreri (1930-2014), a well known Woburn, MA based potter and ceramic sculptor. Showing a strong Japanese influence, it has an irregularly faceted form and interesting surface showing a mix of cream, brown, and gray with just a hint of green. Very different all the way around--so if displayed on a shelf, it should be rotated regularly!
Very good condition, and signed on the bottom. 4 1/8" tall x 4" widest; 1 1/8" across at opening. There is one small area of light colored spotting near the lip that appears original to the making.
