I have a very deep and special love for the drawings of boys of about 7 or 8, and specifically action scenes playing out directly on the page--just about as direct a line into the imagination as exists, completely visceral and immediate. And in a way I can't fully articulate, there seems something powerfully true and tender about the convergence of naivete and brutality in drawings like these. This is one of several I am listing, all by the same kid. This one I love both sides of equally, with arrow points at the ends of each line of the gunfire on one side, looking as if aimed at a cat holding a shield with little bird flying overhead (methinks this boy had a nasty family cat!), and man on wonderfully awkward horse on reverse (with excellent little face drawn on the saddle), making a BOOM.
11 3/4" x 9 1/2". Graphite on lined paper, very good condition.
