Early 19th Century Ink and Graphite Drawing of Hotel with Church on Horizon in Lemon Gold Frame

Regular price $115.00

I found this drawing digging through an old pile of papers at Brimfield, and you can bet I dug through that and every box near it hoping to discover others similar (sadly not.) Nothing I love more that an early naive American drawing of a architectural structure like this, surely done on the page of an antique school ledger, early 19th c. I believe. The best rich black on those windows, soft around the edges, with "hotel" written twice above it, to either side of that wonderful little church on high.

Framed: 9 1/4" x 7 1/4". Paper: 7 3/4" x 4 7/8". I framed this one to keep it safe and because I really love it--and the frame itself is a great one, of a hard to find smaller size. Losses to the left edge and bottom of the paper as evident. Simply mounted by two small pieces of clear archival tape to a piece of archival board; easily removed.
