Carefully Arranged Flock of Taxidermy Shore Birds, with Eggs, Antique Albumen Cabinet Card

I'm no advocate for taxidermy, but I do find this antique albumen photo very beautiful, capturing a very carefully arranged ensemble of shore birds, complete with what I take for scattering of eggs. I could forever watch sandpipers and plovers skittering along the beach, so light on their feet and so magical in their synchronization with the rest of their flock; for me this very soft but finely detailed photo captures a sense of that balletic-ness and delicacy.
