I've started paying some attention to old finials, satisfying I think in a manner akin to carved whimsies, and as a great vehicle for crusty old paint--with this one, beautiful standing on four old square nails, a perfect case in point. Just a gorgeous little object, and with these spindly nail legs making it seem as if it might scurry away!
