This has a bit of the feel of a girl's first attempt at making a quilt, long ago--I'd call it a crib quilt, but it also feels like something of a sample to me, with nothing quite exact about it, which is part of what makes me love it. And the great old fabrics. And the red and white cotton thread ties. And that navy and white gingham. Found in PA, early 20th c. I believe, earnest and unfussy and super sweet. With chintz fabric on reverse, two panels with the pattern turned in, the middle panel with pattern facing out.
20 1/2" x 12" and in good antique condition. No holes or notable stains, and not the least fragile, just a little scattered spotting visible on the lightest colored fabric, mostly the pale square at upper right in first photo. Minor.
