Charming Little Pair of Antique Carved Wooden Shoes on Wire Loop

Little charmers. These are offered just as they were found (the lovely dealer who sold them to me was also the source of the stool with wool applique top listed this week). Tethered together on a wire loop, they feel to me like something of a valentine--stand ins for their imagined wearers, together forever! Both carved of wood, pine I believe, one stained black the other left alone, each with a small eye hook at back by which they were looped. Maybe once dangled from an xmas tree? 

Each shoe approx 2 3/16" l x 1 1/4" t. Both in good condition, with the black stain showing a few scattered lighter patches. 19th century I do believe.
