I found this little chest in Upstate New York and was--am--totally charmed by it, with an exuberance to the painted surface that feels one part grain painting, one part schoolgirl watercolor, and one part Jackson Pollock! It is made of crate wood / cigar box wood, with black stenciled lettering showing in a couple of places on the interior of the drawers, and with what look to me to be mostly old hand-cut copper nails holding it all together. With a great presence, very very dear.
4 7/8" t x 5 7/8" w x 4 13/16" d and in good condiotion. Small loss to the far left of the bottom piece on face, minor, and some paint loss to the top of the chest, as documented, I don't think at all detracting. Structurally sound and not fragile.
