C. 1930s-40s Dustpan + Nails Make Do Cranberry Rake, Found in Maine

Regular price $80.00

Found in Maine, as might be expected, this is an old "make do" cranberry rake, fashioned of a metal dustpan and two rows of nails, c. 1930s. I really love the horizontal line of nail heads along the front edge, and of course their spikes coming up! The second row of nails/spikes  comes up from the bottom on the interior. A rake like this (though this is very much one of a kind!) would be used for combing cranberries from vines to harvest.

8 5/8" w x 13" t x 2 3/4" d at scoop. Well used condition, and I imagine the dustpan, showing red over green paint, had already lived a life before being put use to make this!
