Bucket Shaped 19th Century Treenware Box with Side Handles

Sale price $20.00 Regular price $32.00

This is a beautiful antique treen box, dating, I believe, to the mid to late 19th century. The shape is that of a bucket or pail, with simulated bands around bottom, middle, and lid, and handles on either side to which a string was once attached.  Hand-turned, the finished blonde wood has a nice sheen, which photos do not capture well.

3 1/2" tall x 3" across with handles; 2 1/2" deep. Some hairline cracking to the wood consistent with age, and some roughness to the interior lip (not visible when closed), but altogether really lovely.
