Bright Eyed Large Presumed Inuit Cloth Doll with Embroidered Face on Hide and Yarn Hair

Regular price $70.00

No way could I look into her bright eyes and leave this girl behind; I simply have no choice in situations like this, where there is another soul involved! And, stripped of what was likely a hide or fur covered parka--though still wearing her beaded  moccasins--she felt a bit vulnerable. Found in Maine, and I believe Inuit, she has a well stuffed cotton body, hide head and hands, hand-embroidered face, and black yarn braided hair. C. 1920s-40s I believe and feeling very alive!

Approx 17" tall x 7" widest. There is one area of loss at her neck, where one can glimpse a bit if her stuffing (looks like cotton batting). Hard to tell if a lost seam or a fine tear, her head is very tightly attached and there is very little gap between chin and chest. In any case, she is stable and sturdy and not at all fragile, and the rest of her is in very good condition.
