I imagine this sweet woodblock was carved by a member of a boy scout troop in the 1940s or so, to be used to print some sort of awards of merit or the like. The backside reveals that it was likely made by a Leonard Aturill Story (whose father, he notes is, James Story, and a Tred Spivey is listed as well). I love it just as an object (with a handy hole at the top for hanging), but would be tempted to ink it and put it back in use to print a series of cards to be used for sending congratulations to friends for various accomplishments!
6 inches square and 1/2 inch thick.
