Pure joy. The marvelous, densely pen and blue ink decorated bird here is a cutout drawing, mid-19th c. I believe, purchased from a favorite Pennsylvania based dealer, and the wonderful c. mid 19th century black stained/painted primitive frame with hand-cut glass is one I found in New Hampshire and had waiting for the perfect thing, which I think the bird is! I mounted the cutout drawing to a piece of cream colored archival mat via one piece of archival tape; very easily removed if desired.
Frame: 6 3/4" x 5 5/8" not including hook. Bird (cutout) 4 5/8 on diagonal head to tail; 1 1/8” across at belly. All in good shape, with a little toning visible on the bird and surface wear to the edges of the frame.
