I'm a sucker for nice old wooden blocks, and these are really lovely. Though without its slide-top lid, I think the box is original to them, and think they likely date to the first quarter of the 20th century, though could be even a bit older than that. There are probably a handful of them missing, but almost a full box still, and I must say that in laying them out to photograph them, I was really tempted to spend a few hours playing. Classic, modular in scale, indestructible, great in the hand, and I think as creatively stimulating and rewarding for adults as for kids (so great for sharing!)
Box measures 8 3/4" x 6 1/4" x 2 11/16" t. Longest blocks measure 4 8/8" Very good condition.
