This particular sort of German Mosaic blocks sets, with enamel painted color on the wooden blocks, are very hard to find--I know from forever looking for them! The lacquer like surface on the blocks just makes them a different, extra beautiful thing. The square and rectangular and triangular blocks here are in large part unpainted on the other side, though some are painted cream. Most rewarding is to just dump them on a tabletop and start making designs that don't necessarily conform to the square frame--endless possibilities good for many hours of creative play.
