I jumped on this one because I find it a very beautiful and poetic feeling old handmade tool--and then I realized the brass scoop was likely cut from an artillery shell, making this both a make do creation and a piece of trench art of sorts. And clearly a scoop was much needed by whoever made it--with the carved handle here showing a beautiful dark and warm dry wood patina from much much handling. I find the line of that deep arc of the scoop's opening especially lovely, too.

8 1/4" l x 2 3/8" w x 2 1/8" d and in beautiful presumed antique condition (c. WW1 I'd guess) , with lots of use left in it.
