As you likely well know by now, I'm always looking for antique watercolors like this one, likely done by a school girl in the 2nd half of the 19th century, and likely one of many once held together in a ruled notebook. I love the combination of confidence and naïveté, and the saturated, bold colors on these two flowers, which I find super satisfying and just right for holding on to the late days of summer. This one I think would be fantastic in a lemon gold or black painted period frame.
7 7/8” x 4 15/16” and in very good condition, with minor stains and toning.
