Just a lovely little book, which I thought would make the perfect gift for the friend of family member with the east coast beach house you are more than ready to descend upon--or to send by way of invitation to friends, should you be the one with the house and ready for visitors! I believe this 1947 copy is a first edition, and is chock full of pretty full page photographs of shells grouped by type, and very readable entries describing many hundreds of species.
190 pages including index. 7 3/8" x 4 7/8" x 3/4". Very good condition; minor wear to the cloth-covered hardcover, inside clean. Published by Houghton Mifflin, Boston.
