1908 Oversized Matching Card Game with Great Graphics

Regular price $40.00

I haven't been able to figure out the maker of these cards, or to find another set out there, but at the top of the Department Store (featured on three of them) is the year 1908, I assume the year of their making. I think the images of balls and tops and animals and trains, etc., are great, and love the way they are divided in half, with the other two images from each set of three pictured below the center line. I assume this was to be played pretty much like rummy, trying to accumulate as many complete sets of three as possible, though could also be played as a memory game.

24 cards total. These are large--4 3/8" x 3" each--color litho on substantial cardboard with pale pink backs. They have definitely been used with embedded soiling--especially evident on the backs-- but I personally love them all the more for it, and while photos don't quite do them justice I find them really beautiful.
