Just pure beautiful color, and I love the violets and yellows against one another. This rare original color plate comes from an atlas by René Henri Digeon of plates for color matching, according to M.E. Chevreul's system of color analysis, published by Hachette & Cia in 1869. Luminous!
4-color aquatint printing process. 7 3/4" x 10 1/2". There is a sheet of protective tissue, original, attached along the left edge, easily cut away. Some stains along the edges but if matted fairly tightly, as I would do, no real matter.
