Some things call to me and then some things get my heart racing fast and this is very much one of the latter. Pure and total joy. These sorts of things are getting harder and harder to find, and more and more precious when they surface--and no wonder! C. 1850, purchased from a dealer in Vermont, with six watercolored drawings in it, each captioned in that very best sort of all-caps child's lettering, the child in this case a young Walter Easton, who wrote his name on the last page under a neat row of flowering urns. Each drawing as good as the next, though I do think that squirrel is the tops! With a paper cover in brilliant blue edged in gold, and a pair of stick pins used to bind it!
4" x 2 7/8". All pages pictured. Very good condition, general light wear and scattered small stains and toning, not in the least detracting. Just wonderful.
