I've come across just a handful of these over the years and will always snap them up, such an excellent looking and evocative object (two objects, actually). It is an antique two part cast iron mold, for making clear candy I believe. And of course it is the hands that make it great, including for the way the two halves can be be configured for display: two rows of five, fingers up, looks as if they're all doing a royal wave together, or fingers pointing toward one another, as if reaching to touch--or in opposite directions, as if flapping wings.
Closed: 8" l x 3 1/4" t x 1 3/8" d. Good condition, fits together as it should. Some surface rust, as documented.
