19th Century PA Needlepoint Wall-pocket in Homespun Wool with Woolen Trim

Regular price $150.00

I'm fairly obsessed with 19th century American needlepoints executed in hand-dyed homespun wool that are just pure pattern--they feel so crisp and modern to me. Here incorporated into a functional wall pocket, with fancy red wool trim all around. There is a small loop at the top point on reverse for hanging, which I would do straight away, maybe to tuck important or encouraging notes to self inside of, but I wouldn't use for things much heavier than that, and so lovely just as it is.

12" t x 6 5/8" w and in very good condition. Later 19th c. I believe. No losses at all the the needlepoint, and just light wear to the trim. A couple of small holes to the heavyweight fabric on reverse near bottom corner, minor.
