Something about patterns painted in blue and white that is just way too satisfying to resist; I just want to be around these. I found them as a group of nine, so am selling them that way, though they have different characters and certainly lend themselves to breaking up in smaller groups. (To me, the four with all over fields of diamonds feel very modern while also a bit Persian or Turkish; the two at the corners like almost illusionistic/surreal; and the remaining three very reminiscent of Delft.) Anyway, I think they're all gorgeous! And I do believe all French, 19th century, from the Pas-de-Calais region, with a few showing impressed stamps on the back to that effect.
Tiles each 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" give or take. Set of nine. Small losses along a few edges as documented and one of the four diamond pattern ones with a bit more residue on the reverse that the others, which one could probably chip away with a little effort.
