Bad kitty! I believe this very charming antique hand-colored lithograph dates to the 1840s or so, and would guess it is English, though I am not certain. (The style and hand-coloring makes me at least think of Pennsylvania German Fraktur birth and marriage certificates of the era.) At any rate, the subject of the naughty birding cat is pretty timeless, wonderfully rendered here with yellow winged bird upside down in its mouth, and I think that is a tear in the eye of our girl as she scolds it!
In an old black-painted wood frame, papered on the back and wired for hanging. Framed size: 8" x 5 7/8" x 3/4". Visible image: 6 1/2" x 4 3/8". A couple of chips to the surface of the frame along the top, and one small tear in the print at top center. No real matter, I'd hang it exactly as it is, perhaps on the wall right about the cat dish! There is a little glare caught in the photos.
