Wading Hunter with Rifle and Family of Onlookers, Curious c. 1930s Velox Snapshot

So curious. This one keeps reminding me of the sort of larger than life hunting scene diorama one might find at a Bass Pro Shop, complete with taxidermy stag running though a forest--a grand fiction. It's the people standing to the right in the background, looking rather like tourists, watching this hunter in action, that do it--making the whole forest seem like a movie set. And looking closely, there are a few cars visible through the trees at left. One wonders what prey is just outside the frame! I'm pretty obsessed with this one, which also feels very very American. 

 3 3/16 x 4 1/2" and in very good condition, very sharp and clear.
