Such a wonderful face, and an especially excellent mustache, but for me its very much the whole of the image here--the patterns of the wallpaper behind him, and the way the light lands on the wall, and the formal rhyme between the sharp folds and "V" of his collar and the curl of his mustache above, almost like mirror reflections of each other. And then this curious dot at the center of his forehead, I honestly can't tell whether a birthmark or a stain, but very much just the right thing! (And there is a fainter one at the exact center of his chin for good measure.) Makes him feel a bit like a mystic!
3 13/16 x 3 3/4 and in good condition, scattered stains to the card and a few glue stains around the perimeter of the photo, from when it was mounted. Very much all of a piece with it. Found in NH.
