Woman in Yellow Hat with Amazing Lips and Tiny Flower, Antique Graphite and Crayon Drawing

Regular price $75.00

A few more today by the same person who drew the woman with raised hand in garden (framed) listed last week along with another sold --I love these so much, each quite singular but showing their maker's sustained commitment to drawing lovely ladies in with distinctive features, sculptural hair, and tiny hands! And this young woman is completely after my own heart!!! What a face, a bit awkward and wonderfully open and earnest looking, with those lips just about my favorite thing ever, the top one shaped like a little mustache! And what marvelous hands indeed, with a tiny flower between her tiny fingers. LOVE. I know these were found in the collection of an artist in Maine, and believe they date to the late 19th century or so.

8 7/8" x 5 7/8". Graphite and crayon on paper. Old cellophane tape to front lower right as evident. I reinforced with a couple of pieces of clear archival mending tape on reverse. Paper a bit brittle.
