Five Million Dollar Bills, 1930s Lucas Co. Play Money Print Block (for Super Scarce Game of Conquest)

Regular price $80.00

A grid of five million dollar bills- what could be better?! (Well, I do have a block of 20 million dollar bills listed separately, so maybe those!) Certainly apt for the moment, too. A fun and excellent object, but what makes it extra cool to me is that the play money it was made to print was for the game of Conquest, produced by the Lucas Co of Reading, MA in 1936--a dead stock set of which I bought and sold some months ago, with the (poignant) object of the board game being to conquer the United States, state by state. I can find no records of the release of the game, and believe it was only ever produced in a small batch of prototypes--and the set I had included no money, so this feels all the more like a lost treasure. I don't think you'll find another of these out there anywhere. And the very art deco borders on the bills I think are just fantastic.

11 x 8 3/4" and in great shape, thick solid wood back. Easy to wire and hang on the wall, which is just what I would do.
