(in translation, Neptune: \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cem\u003eIn the division that Jupiter made with his brothers, the empire of the seas fell to Neptune. He married Amphitrite, and was banished from heaven with Apollo, for having conspired against Jupiter, etc etc.\u003c\/em\u003e ) Related French decks were produced int he 18th and 19th centuries, often with playing cards inset at the upper corners--not present here, and with the texts on reverse, I think these likely with more of an educational function. I cannot find an exact match for these so am uncertain the original size of the deck, but each one here a beauty.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSet of 26, each 2 1\/8\" x 1 1\/2\".
