Quite a sense of soulfulness to this creature, which feels as if possessive of the sort of deep wisdom that comes from endurance over the long haul! I really can't tell if the legs were once longer, but to my eye its heavy, low to the ground body standing on short points is pure poetry. C. later 19th century I believe, carved of pine, and perhaps German of the early Erzgebirge sort, though I am not entirely certain of that. Purchased from a dealer from Michigan who always has many wonderful things.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e 6 1\/2\" l x 3 1\/4\" t x 2\" w. Sound antique condition, and stands steady on its four points of feet. Looks as though it once had horns, long lost. Small loss along outer edge of tail at end, no matter, and a couple of patches of pinprick size holes in the wood. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eTerrific warm dry patina.
