I also think that the artist was someone whose name we might recognize; seems one would have been rather in the know and in the loop to have a copy of this one.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a very cool artist book\/art object whatever the case: \u003cem\u003eConstruction, Color and Moire\u003c\/em\u003e by Albert Gregory (American, b.1937) published in Cambridge MA in 1965 in a limited edition of 200 (this copy is number 28), distributed by Wittenborn and Company (NYC) in the US. Not a lot of biography readily accessible out there about Gregory, but he published a second, related book in 1967 titled \u003cem\u003eOverlap\u003c\/em\u003e, similarly concerned with the creation of optical and kinetic effects through the layering of patterns. That latter book also extended his clear interest in exploring the book as site for interaction, with printed films included for the viewer\/reader to manipulate over the printed pages.  There are two films included here, as shown, duplicates of one another. (I have found documentation of one other copy of this book out there, which includes one film; my guess is it was distributed with two originally, the second a back up of sorts; nice to have two here.)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e9 1\/4\" x 9\", hardcover, 36 numbered pages. Each leaf is two pages folded over, i.e. each printed surface has a blank reverse. No dust jacket, some toning and light soiling to cover but interior pages clean.
