Here a pair of lovers under a starry deep blue sky, in front of a pond filled with floating lotuses, palatial structure in the distance. The elegant figure in the margin, rendered in the manner of Mughal courtly painting against gilded decoration, I believe represents a royal prince or perhaps the emperor.  Nicely framed as found in a double paned, gilded frame, such that the reverse side of the manuscript page is also visible. 19th century I believe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e9 1\/8\" x 6 5\/16\" framed. Overall both frame and painting in very good condition, with some scattered small holes in the paper that read just as more stars in the sky! Heavy for its size due to the double glass and frame is quite sturdy.
