Japanese Wrapping Cloth: White with Kabuki Figures

Regular price $10.00

One of my favorite things hanging on my own walls is a striking vintage Japanese furoshiki, or wrapping cloth, which I mounted in a simple white frame. This one, white with a fantastic pair of kabuki figures in magnificent costumes, I think is absolutely frame-worthy as well—or, of course, also great for wrapping a gift, as is its traditional purpose, while also being a gift in itself.  (Thinking of Mother Earth as we give, how about loving our loved ones and the planet by buying vintage only and wrapping everything in cloth?!) Or wear it as a scarf!

Made of a crepe-type fabric, rayon I believe, it measures 27x27”. There is a tiny spot between the two figures, which I believe is just a smudge and would come out if cleaned; it is otherwise in excellent condition.
