This shore bird, carved and stamped by Harry Monk (1916-2010) of Whitman, MA, is not especially old--I guess later 20th c.--but I think quite beautifully done, with an elegance to the form, orange glass eyes, and very satisfying paint job, especially the mottling on the wings. Very handsome, with a graceful and serene presence.
9 1/2" l x 7 1/2" t x 2 7/8" w (at base). Very good condition.
