I found these wonderful old hand-painted letters in the stables of a huge old horse farm in Marlborough MA, where I believe they would have been used for dressage, marking where specific movements would be performed. In this case the horses may have only been trained to do three movements, as all I found were As, Bs and C’s! Thickly painted on board in lush red, black, yellow, green and white, with one hole at the top center of each for hanging, I think they are just fantastically beautiful objects that I would hang like artworks; they’d be pretty great in a classroom or kid’s room, too.
There are 2 As, 2 Cs and 2 Bs, all of which measure about 12 x 8 x 1/4”, except the green B which measures 10 x 7 3/8 x 1/4”.
