I do believe it is the Hudson here, and with a view to what I presume are the Catskill mountains in the distance. And with a bit of architecture tucked in under the soaring trees at near left, as typical: the \u003cspan\u003eAmerican landscape as a pastoral setting, where human beings and nature coexist peacefully. I'd like to nestle in there, indeed! I don't know anything more about the larger painting this came from, but this fragment feels quite resolved as a stand alone painting now, I think \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFramed, under glass, roughly period frame, as found: 14 3\/8\" x 12 1\/4\". Sight 10 1\/8\" x 8\".  Loss to the surface of the frame top left, as evident. Painting itself in very good condition.
