It is a bit subtle, but hand-carved above the top horizontal row of holes are numbers in intervals of 50 (50-300), and then vertically down the right edge of the board more numbers in intervals of 5 (5-50) which I believe would be used to track volume and scale of logs harvested at a logging camp. I am not an expert in logging, but love this as an object born of place and of necessity, and for its primitiveness, with a real sweetness to the naive manner of those scratched in numbers. With a rich patina to the dry wood and a special feeling about it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e 9 1\/2\" x 6 1\/16\".
