SOLD Striking Large Vintage 1980s Richard Lincoln Studio Pottery Vase

Regular price $120.00

If I lived again in Kansas City, I would have to deal in ceramics, as it is very much ceramics town, with lots of good pottery to found there, which is where I found this one. I didn't know it when I bought it, but it was easy to discover that the RML incised into the underside stands for Richard M Lincoln (1929-2009), longtime professor of ceramics (and French literature) at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, known for hand-thrown stoneware pieces glazed with modernist patterns, reflecting a mid-century aesthetic favoring simple forms and glaze patterns. His work, of which this is a excellent example, is featured in museum collections including the Dallas Museum of Art;  Detroit Institute of Art,; Everson Museum of Art (Syracuse, New York), and Witte Museum (San Antonio.)

9 1/8” t x 8 3/4” w and in excellent condition, with no flaws whatsoever that I can see. Dated 1988.
