No way could I resist this one--a perfect embodiment of how found object + creative idea + small intervention adding up to something pretty fantastic. In this case, I believe it was a cast iron foot from an old bathtub that was turned upside down, painted gold, given a slit for a mouth and two holes for eyes, then mounted on a piece of wood. The result is a very monkey-like monkey with about as empathetic face as I can image. Ta da, so good!
7 1/4” 5 5/8” x 4 1/4 and heavy. This definitely has good some good age to it, with nice mellowing of the gold paint and wear to it just where there should be, such as on the end of the nose.
