The George and Gracie Show Shot on Screen, 1950s Snapshot Photo

Regular price $25.00

I love old photos of tv screen--the television a window and also a frame, and the snapshot freezing a fleeting televised moment forever there, on that particular screen. Here its George Burns and Gracie Allen captured on the set, whose George and Gracie show ran 1950 to 1958, including back to back with I Love Lucy for some of its duration. An influential show in the early days of the medium, with studio set designed to look like the couple's real-life residence, as one can glimpse here. Burns and Allen were one of the most enduring acts in entertainment history--headliners in vaudeville in the 1920s, radio stars in the 1930s and 1940s, television stars in the 1950s. (She died in 1964, while he continued to work in comedy, television and film and went on to live to 100!) So a whole lot rolled into this one.

5" x 4". Good condition, glossy original snapshot, 1950s, with small abrasion and light stain to the reverse side and a little curling.
