Much Loved 19th Century Heart Shaped Mi'kmaq Beaded Pin Cushion

Regular price $50.00

A very well worn one, but I really love it this way, a very tender feeling heart indeed--and with next to no loss to the beadwork itself, it is just the red wool ground and blue silk wrap/sides that have dissoved. I am pretty certain this is Mi'kmaq (Wabanaki confederacy) though there are many similarities with 19th century Iroquois beadwork pin cushions, specifically Seneca examples. I waded through the pouring rain on May's field at Brimfield to find this one, but it alone for me made the effort worthwhile. Love.

2 3/4" x 2 1/4" x 1". Very well worn as evident, but really not fragile, holding together well, stable and miraculously sound.
