This tintype feels so painterly to me, and quite sophisticated in the spareness of its composition, with black drape of hidden mother at left, pale tufted chair at right, and what feels like an endless expanse of gray behind. Then this wide eyed young girl in plaid dress and lace collar, looking composed but a bit unsettled. Quite beautiful I think.
3 7/16 x 2 1/8 and in very good condition. There is a tiny white dot on the lower lip of the girl, which I only noticed with magnification.
