I find myself looking a lot at antique floral/botanical watercolors these days, as who doesn't need little doses of loveliness wherever we can find them? I really love the delicacy of this one, combining rose and rosebuds, pansies, and forget me nots--which, together with the text below it, in Dutch I believe, make for quite a sweet token of fondness, sent from one friend to another. (The text may be an excerpt from a poem, but I've found it a bit of a challenge first to decipher and then to translate!)
Late 19th century I believe. In good condition, with a few light stains at upper left and along the top edge, no real matter. 6 1/8" x 3 3/4".
