I have no idea if the person who made these really fun tarot cards/paintings followed through with making a complete the deck (I would guess not, as the major arcana, of which there are 21 of 22 here--just missing The Sun--are the most exciting, and what a lot of effort they alone took!) These are closely based on the famous Rider-Waite tarot deck, created by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909, though the hand and sensibility of their maker is very much present. And while great to keep together as a set, I think these would also make perfect gifts to dole out individually, matching cards to the personalities and (pre)occupations of recipients!
Gouache on heavyweight board. Minor variation in size but approx. 6" t x 3 5/16" w. Light wear around the edges but really in terrific condition, super bright and saturated color. I would guess these date the the last quarter of the 20th century. I know they were found at an estate in South Carolina. Sold as a set.
