Young Man in Striped Turtleneck with Billowing Pipe Old Watercolor, Framed

Regular price $200.00

Total love at first sight with this antique watercolor--what a face (those eyebrows, those blushing cheeks, those bow lips!), what a turtleneck, and I've got a weakness for images of pipes (which I think relates to Magritte), all the better emanating balletic trails of smoke as this one subtly does. I think if I were to live with this one I would carry on a lively ongoing banter with him--he looks to me like a college student likely to have come straight from the library or perhaps debate team practice!

Signed to the bottom right of his turtleneck in pencil with what appears to read R.M Shuler or similar. A little age toning, particularly at upper left corner, but overall very good condition. Framed as I found him in an old wood frame which I think suits him well. As framed: 13 1/4" w x 15" t x 1 1/8" d.  Visible image size: 11 5/8" x 13 3/16".
